This was a fun one ☝🏻 Started off this curly cut with a big chop, around 6 inches. Then I added some face framing angles + longer layers for movement and added volume. For styling I chose to style her at the sink . I raked I create volume through her hair in sections then had her flip her head over and proceeded to scrunch in I create hold mixed in with water for even distribution. For extra hold + volume a glazed over her hair with I create lift the volumizing foam . I used my go to @innersenseorganicbeauty products to create a nice crunchy cast and diffused until fully dry. Summer time is here and we ALL know what that means… more FRIZZ! Granted this can be an all year issue to for some of us, however with these tips you can cut down on that frizz. Now I wanna put it out there that not all frizz is bad, depending on you’re overall look for your hair it can add volume too. As for today here are my tips for cutting back on that unwanted frizz. 1. My personal favorite, the satin pillowcase OR cap for sleeping 😴 I always get tons of guests telling me they wake up with tangles and frizz and my first question is do you sleep with a satin cap or case? Usually no lol. Using either one will retain moisture in your hair + reduce the friction when sleeping which in turn will reduce that halo frizz. 2. Curly/ wavy hair is usually on the drier side . Our hair is THIRSTY! So a daily conditioner doesn’t always provide the slip and hydration that we need especially during the beach going months. Deep conditioning can be done weekly in place of your usual conditioner or bi- weekly if your hair is on the finer side and it might be too heavy for weekly use. 3. Last but certainly not least, when applying your styling products especially gel you need to make sure your hair is wet enough. The more water the less frizz, that’s my rule of thumb. This goes for most of my curly/wavy peeps too! You want your hair to be almost “slimy” when you’re done applying your gel. Reason being it helps the product saturate each strand aka less frizz and again our hair is dry so more water is what we need. I highly recommend a continuous spray bottle handy during styling to really wet down hair before applying your product! Too many people just scrunch product in and it’s not covering each strand resulting in little frizz pockets all over. Water provides lots of slip and ease ! Silk press for PROM ✨ I won’t lie when I tell you this had me sweating 🥵 I do enjoy stepping out of my comfort zone here and there , and as much as I love embracing the curls I also love giving my curly girls what they want! For today it was silky hair for senior prom. This was her first silk press in over two years. The excitement on her face was priceless 🤗 This look was achieved by a double wash at the basin to really provide a deep cleansing of her hair+ scalp.
